MNE 2014 will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland. Lausanne is a green city in the heart of Europe and is the capital of the Canton of Vaud, being the fifth largest city in Switzerland. Lausanne's situation is exceptional, being located in the heart of the Lake Geneva region (known to French-speakers as "Lac Léman") – the largest lake in Western Europe. The UNESCO world heritage site of the Lavaux vineyards is a highlight of the area.
Lausanne is also known as the "Olympic Capital", being headquarters to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as well as being an internationally well-known cultural center.
As the center of a community of 250'000 inhabitants, Lausanne is readily accessible by road, rail, plane and even by boat. A place for higher education and research, Lausanne attracts a large number of students and scientists from all around the world. They can study or work in prestigious institutions such as the EPFL, the Institute for Management Development-IMD, the University of Lausanne or the University of Art and Design.
